RTL+ Migration to Bedrock Completed

Transition to largest pan-European streaming platform strengthens foundation for profitable growth
RTL+, Germany's leading streaming service with more than 7.3 million subscribers, has officially completed its migration to the Bedrock platform. It's a milestone we're incredibly proud of and one that's been in the making since July 2024.
Why this matters
RTL Deutschland made the move to consolidate onto a single, best-in-class technology platform, retiring a legacy in-house solution in favor of a foundation built for scale, efficiency, and long-term growth. The migration was finalised in April, and it directly supports RTL Group's goal of building a sustainably profitable streaming business by 2026.
Henning Nieslony, Chief Streaming Officer of RTL Deutschland, shared: "The migration to Bedrock marks an important step in the continued development of RTL+. By transitioning, we are unifying our technology platform and can now enhance it in a more targeted way. My sincere thanks go to all colleagues who contributed to the success of this project with exceptional commitment and expertise."
The largest migration of its kind in Europe
This wasn't a small undertaking. Moving a service the size of RTL+ is a serious technical challenge — and the team delivered.
As Bedrock CEO Jonas Engwall put it: "RTL Deutschland and Bedrock have completed what we believe is the largest streaming platform migration of its kind in Europe. We are very grateful for RTL's trust and are excited to continue supporting their growth."
What's next
With RTL+ now part of the Bedrock ecosystem, the platform reaches 10 million subscribers and 45 million users across 6 countries, making Bedrock the largest pan-European streaming platform today, powering M6+, Videoland, and RTL+.
